One of the more classic designs in the collection, Matrinah, named after Ardmore designer Matrinah Xaba, reveals an arrangement of ornate platters and plates, all featuring intricate patterns of birds and animals with decorative scallop borders. In contrast to limestone backgrounds of olive, taupe, ivory, yellow ocher and pink, it presents the smooth shape of the silhouette of Khulu vases.
